Cancer and Disability Rates Climbing in East Texas

A growing number of families in east Texas are facing challenges from cancer and disabilities. According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, cancer death rates in eastern Texas are significantly outpacing the rest of our state. In fact, some analysists report that east Texas has the lowest rating in the country when it comes to cancer. Compounding this issue, we’ve seen the number of disabled adults in our area jump to nearly 10%.

The Purtle Agency is launching a campaign to help reduce these numbers, and we will be working with a series of initiatives in the Arklatexoma region to provide assistance to families affected by cancer and disabilities.

Helping Those in Need

As regional Ambassadors of the #AgentsofChange network, our agency is proud to work on behalf of those in our community who need help. Our plans to provide assistance will include working directly with affected families, promoting community education and awareness on cancer prevention, and improving the flow of resources to agencies that assist individuals living with disabilities.

There are a great many families who need our help, and there’s no way we can do this alone.

You Can Make a Difference

Making a donation isn’t the only way you can help – we also need to let people in our area know about this campaign. If you send in a co-worker, friend, relative, or neighbor to receive a no-cost insurance appraisal from the team here at the Purtle Agency, we will happily issue a donation IN YOUR NAME to a local program that provides direct support to families facing cancer or disability.

Be Part of our Team!

This is an opportunity for you and your family to make a positive difference in our community, and it won’t cost you anything to be part of our team. We hope you’ll join us in offering a helping hand to those in dire need of assistance.
